It used to be that I would break out with “I need a vacation” because I was overwhelming stressed and couldn’t handle much pressure. Or maybe I just wanted to run from responsibilities. Whatever the case may have been, I just wanted to get away! As my relationship with Christ grew stronger and stronger, I learned to manage stress and deal with pressure. I managed responsibilities by doing what I could and depending on God for what I couldn’t do. Within all of this, I did something that I wasn’t even aware of – Christ and I created a life that I didn’t need a vacation from. Now don’t get me wrong – I would love to take a vacation so that I can be in a beautiful, new place and make beautiful memories. I just don’t want to take a vacation based on my inability to handle life right where I am. There is a difference. A relationship with Christ can bring about some amazing things in our lives. This relationship changed my mindset. Are you allowing the relationship with Christ to bring about amazing things in your life? “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2).
