Where Is Your Focus?

I am 40 years old. When I was younger, I had no idea that I would end up with five children fathered by different men. I had no idea that I would live in a place what so many people call “the hood” and also living under a housing authority. I had no idea that I would be single at age 40. Yet, God knew. And because of Him, I choose to shine in every area. If I had ten children, I will still shine. If I lived in a shack, I will still shine. If no husband is ever in my future, I will still shine. Why? Because my focus is not on my circumstances. It’s not on where I live or WHAT I HAVE BUT WHO I HAVE. No, my life is far from perfect but CHRIST IS PERFECT. That’s where my focus is. My strength fails me daily but THE STRENGTH OF CHRIST is UNFAILING. That’s where I pull from. Perhaps you may be an area of life where you didn’t expect to be on today. Should you be in this place, remember God’s Promise for you – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29: 11 ESV).
