Be Set Free

Demons from the past are all in to control us. How do they attempt to control us? We focus on all that has been done to us and all that we have done. We turn to unhealthy ways to cope with it all like alcohol, smoking and drugs. Some of us isolate ourselves. I have good news concerning those demons of the past! God has the power to free our hearts, our minds and our souls. We cannot do it in our own strength. When we surrender our lives to Christ, we become who He wants us to be. Remember Mary Magdalene? She was possessed by seven demons and she probably withdrew from others as much as she possibly could. Casting out seven demons is something that only the Power of Jesus could do. After Jesus healed her, she followed him for the rest of her life. Mary Magdalene was even the first person who saw Jesus as the Risen Lord.  Are demons of your past holding you captive today? Are bad memories holding you in a pit of darkness, isolation and shame? Jesus can set you free! His healing touch can erase those bad memories! His Healing turns ashes into beauty, darkness into light and sorrow into joy. His healing sets us free to live a life of abundance that He has planned for us. I tell what I know for myself. “But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness” (Romans 6:17-18 NIV).
