Spread the News About Jesus!

If you are reading this devotion right now that means you are alive and hopefully, well. It means that God has given you another chance to get it right. You are not alive so that you can obtain a lot of money, live in the nicest house, drive the most luxurious vehicle, or wear the most stylish attire. You are alive because the Lord wants the whole world to hear about Jesus. This is why God kept Paul alive. Paul was rescued from the the mouth of lions (2 Tim 4:17). Why? Because God wanted him to proclaim Jesus to the world! We may not be like Paul but we are all a part of the same mission. Parent. Student. Housewife. Church leader. Grandparent. Housekeeper. Construction worker. Pastor. It doesn’t matter what position you have – if you are alive today, God wants to use you. The world needs to hear about Jesus. Tell what He has done in your life. Be the hands and feet of Jesus. Speak words of kindness. Somebody, somewhere is watching and listening. “But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that threw me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the Lions mouth”. (2 Tim 4:17).

What A Friend We Have In Jesus

Stacy Lynn’s Devotion for 1/28/2020:

Aren’t you glad that we have a FRIEND in Jesus? A FRIEND who truly loves us. A FRIEND who we can confide in. A FRIEND who comforts us. A FRIEND who heals us. A FRIEND who never leaves our side. Our families love us but nobody loves us like the Lord! I can’t help but think of the following song:

What a friend we have in Jesus

All our sins and griefs to bear

And what a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer

Oh, what peace we often forfeit

Oh, what needless pain we bear

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged

Take it to the Lord in prayer

Can we find a friend so faithful

Who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Here I Am

Stacy Lynn’s Devotion for 1/23/2020:

God does test us; but He doesn’t tempt us. He tests us in hopes that we will make the right decisions in life – the decisions that reflect Him. God wants us to honor Him and He wants to strengthen us in obedience. Tempting someone is setting them up for failure. God doesn’t do that. The devil does. The story of Abraham being tested by God comes to mind. God commanded Him to sacrifice his son as a burnt offering in Genesis 22. Abraham obeyed. Can you imagine being commanded to do the same?? Abraham knew the character of God. He trusted God. He obeyed God. And God came through! In verse 1, God calls out to Abraham and in verse 11, the angel of the God calls out to Abraham. Each time, he says, “Here I am!” He didn’t run and hide nor did He question God. We may not understand the tests God allows in our lives but if we can learn to trust and obey, God will come through for us, too! When God calls you to be tested, will you say, “Here I am!”? “But the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, ‘Abraham! Abraham!’ ‘Here I am,’ he replied.”
