This morning, my van was scheduled for servicing at the dealership for 7:30am. I had arranged to be picked up by a coworker last night and arrived at the dealership at 7:05am this morning. My coworker pulled up at 7:20M. I seen several individuals who also seen me but no one cared to say, “Good Morning” nor did they inquire of my appointment. After my coworker got out and accompanied me to the service door, the lady let me in but only to find out that they couldn’t get my vehicle serviced today. Feeling bad that I had asked her to pick me up, I told her that she could go ahead and go to work. At that point, I had a choice – I could have grew horns and walked in demanding that my vehicle be serviced or I could go in with kindness and understanding. I chose to go in with kindness and understanding. After I did so, I found out that some of the workers had been exposed to COVID19 and were out being tested, and one worker had a death in the family. Had I came in with a nasty attitude and found out all of this, I would have been so embarrassed. I am glad that I “thought” before I “acted.” When you are tempted to take on a battle, stop and think. Don’t take on battles with emotions and arguments that can cause you stress. Choose your battles wisely. Don’t go to war when there are no profits. “If you follow this advice, and if God commands you to do so, then you will be able to endure the pressures, and all these people will go home in peace” (Exodus 18:23).
