After a few years of getting all kinds of advice and being ridiculed, I learned to take my worries, concerns and fears to God. I learned the hard way that problems beyond my control are better off in prayer heard by God’s ears rather than the ears of others. God is the very Best Friend you will ever have. You can tell Him anything. I think I ran alot of my phone energy out telling my worries, fears, concerns and problems to others in the past! People often complain about how I hardly answer the phone or respond to texts in a untimely fashion! When God became my Best Friend, I was introduced to His Peace. And let me tell you – God, His Peace and me? We are a great trio! I use to look to the world for answers that only God could give. Comfort that only God could give. Guidance that only God could give. Healing that only God could give. I take my bad days to my Best Friend and He walks with me giving me His Peace. I take my good days to my Best Friend and He celebrates me having His Peace. I have some amazing friends in my life but my ULTIMATE BEST FRIEND is THE LORD.
I am woman enough to admit that it hurts at times seeing others my age succeeding in marriages and careers; however, I don’t envy them. I extend happiness and support to anyone who is succeeding in this cruel world. It was my plan to have a career that I truly love, a God-First marriage, a simple and affordable home my spouse and I owned, and two or three children. My plans did not succeed at all. My parents have helped me so much in the past years. I fell into so many never-ending failures and they sacrificed so much to be my safety net. Now, here I am – 42 years old, unmarried, five children, and renting a home that I will never own. Now that my parents are getting older, I still want to put MY plans in place. I would love for my parents to witness me walking down the aisle to say “I Do”, to the man that my dad happily gave me away to. I would love for my parents to witness me buying my first home. I would love for my parents to see my career take off to great heights. Yet, what I would love to happen may not be God’s plan for my life. What I would love to happen may happen – but it will be in God’s timing and not Stacy Lynn’s timing. While I wait, I must remain in the Lord. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” If God says “no” to what I desire, I will trust in Him to give me far better. His timing is perfect and I will trust in that. I don’t know if you can relate to this or not. Maybe you are experiencing disappointment because of YOUR plans. Maybe you are in the midst of making YOUR plans right now. I encourage you to surrender to God’s plans for your life on today. God knows us better than we know ourselves. When we surrender to His plans, we free ourselves from worry and fear. We develop a steadfast faith in the Lord that subjects us to the wonderful blessings He has for us.
I must admit that, at times, I get a little agitated when I put my all in keep others uplifting and there is that “select few” who wants to mock what I do. As a matter of fact, that “select few”, mocks anyone who is trying to make a positive difference in this world. If you are one who loves to uplift others, perhaps you have run into this issue as well. The “select few” loves to claim that we like to “preach” or “tell others what to do.” Well to those who uplift along with me, I encourage you to DON’T STOP. The “select few” are battling with demons that don’t like our “light.” The “select few” wants the world on their side so they will do all that they can and say all they can say to accomplish that. The “select few” doesn’t want to go for anything that comprises them doing what they want to do even if it wrong. The “select few” can’t stand the TRUTH because they live in LIES and the TRUTH exposes their LIES. If you choose the path of uplifting others, I can testify that it won’t be easy but DON’T STOP. They will spit curses on your name and what you do but DON’T STOP. God called you to encourage and uplift others. Even if you only reach one soul, then you are doing what God has called you to do. Encourage and uplift those who accept it. The “select few” may need more time for God to deal with them so they will get it. The “select few” may continue to choose the path of wickedness no matter what. Pray for them and leave them in God’s Hands. Encourage and uplift who you can, when you can and where you can. The world needs more of it.
After it is all said and done, you will stander stronger than you have ever stood before. Yes, it may take some time but you can accomplish it. Yes, you may lose a lot in the process. Yes, it will hurt. Yes, you will have to take paths without others. No, everybody can’t come with you. Yes, your plans will have to be altered. Yes, they will call you crazy and talk about you. Yes, you will feel many emotions. You may even lose your own reflection. But isn’t that the point of going through? To lose who you was and become the person you need to be? To learn to take paths with the God Almighty only? To trust God’s plans for your life and not your own? Yes, I think that is the point of going through it all. “Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it” (Matthew 10:39).
It is my prayer that 2020 awakened those who had fallen asleep in their sluggish way of living. If it didn’t, it should have. God is NOT playing with any of us. He has grown tired of us being FAKE in front of others when He sees who we really are behind closed doors. He is tired of us speaking truth but living a lie. He is tired of us looking good on the outside but are bad on the inside. God wants you to become the person that He created you to be. It’s time to wake up and realize that you need to do better and don’t allow your best self to lie in dormancy. God wants you to live life at your greatest potential each and every day. Stop chasing after the parts of yourself that prevents you from becoming who God created you to be. This means letting go of people-pleasing, guilt, shame and pretense. Invite the Holy Spirit to flow in you so that you may flourish in all that you do. Spiritual growth doesn’t happen overnight and people learn differently so figure out how you grow best spiritually. Make the choice to surrender to God’s will for your life daily. In doing so, relax on the grace of God that is available to you. Allow your desires to lead you to the Lord so that the way you think can be improved. Unhealthy thoughts lead to worry and sin. Take your concerns to the Lord in prayer instead of worrying about them. Talk to the Lord about the things that you face in life and be honest when you feel tempted. Confess and repent of your sins so they don’t hinder your spiritual growth. And always have faith that God brings the good out of challenging situations. In 2021, focus on becoming God’s best version of you. “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:12-14.
